In her book An Invitation to Self-Care, Tracey Cleantis asks if you can recall a time when you went shopping to change your mood - were you stressed out, angry, tired, hurt, or sad?  The next time you realize you are shopping to mask a feeling or emotion....she encourages you to examine the underlying cause behind why you think you need a particular item.
